Yelvertoft Primary School

Welcome back to the Spring term - don't forget to join us at our Paddington Tea's Thursday at 2.30pm

Head Teacher's Welcome

A very warm welcome to Yelvertoft Primary School’s website.

At Yelvertoft Primary School our whole school team are committed to providing the very best learning environment and opportunities for our children.  We are all very proud to be part of this school. We see everyone as a learner and our aim is for all staff and children to grow and improve within a safe, secure and happy environment.

We are a traditional village school with children attending from Yelvertoft, Lilbourne, Clay Coton, Elkington and Stanford.  A number of children also join us from the surrounding area.  We value and respect all the members of our school community and very much see ourselves as part of the wider community.

Whilst providing our children with a broad, balanced and high quality curriculum we also focus strongly on nurturing the children to be confident, healthy and happy individuals.  Above all we want the children to enjoy coming to school, to be excited about learning and feel safe and happy coming to Yelvertoft Primary School.

You are very welcome to come and visit our school and experience for yourself the atmosphere and culture that we believe makes our school a very special place to be.

Best wishes

Mel Servent

'Behaviour around the school is outstanding because pupils show great care for one another'

'It is like a big family'

Yelvertoft is a lovely school and a central part of the community.

'Around the school, pupils are polite to adults and kind to each other. In particular, older pupils enjoy taking care of younger pupils, for example, by helping as playground buddies. Some of the pupils run their own clubs, such as a computer club'

Space Centre Visit

On the last Friday of term, Class 4 enjoyed a trip to the Space Centre in Leicester. We got to see a show in the 4D cinema, have a ride on a Mars simulator and spend the day looking around the exhibits and interactive galleries.

It was great fun and the children were a credit to the school! We would highly recommend a visit!

New Beats Workshop

Class 3 and 4 really enjoyed our workshop with New Beats this week.  They created their own Yelvertoft song.  To listen to the song please click here Yelvertoft School Song

................................................................................................................We are very proud of our school and are very pleased to be able to report the following from a recent Local Authority Good Practice Visit:

Strengths of our school include:

Teaching and learning which is consistently good or better across the school.

Vibrant, engaging learning environment which both supports and reflects the children’s learning and creative, themed curriculum which engages and motivates the children.

The LA noted that the learning environment is particularly effective in the way it supports and celebrates learning and should be shared with schools looking to develop this particular area.
